Dogs can help us feel safe, even while sleeping. Indeed, according to a study conducted by the Mayo Clinic in the United States, sharing a bed with your dog provides a sense of security that would be beneficial to your health.
The researchers asked about 150 people about their pets and their sleep patterns. They concluded that half of the participants sleep with their pets and only 20% said they woke them up at night.
In addition, 41% of those surveyed said that sharing their bed with their pets provided them with a sense of security.

Your dog can keep you warm during the night. It is true that this option is not very desirable in summer, but during a cold winter night, the presence of your pet in your bed can only be appreciated.

Dogs are very beneficial to our mental health. Aside from being able to reduce stress and anxiety, these animals can also help prevent and reduce depression.
Indeed, dogs offer unconditional love to their master, reduce tension and improve mood, something that can be beneficial for people who suffer from depression.
Scientific studies have also shown that people who have pets are less likely to suffer from depression compared to those who do not.
#2 –Reduces Stress and Anxiety
In addition to keeping you company during the night, your dog can also help you reduce stress levels and relax.
Indeed, pets in general and dogs, in particular, are known to reduce stress and anxiety. Various studies have shown that playing with a dog or hugging him can have a relaxing effect, especially when you’re stressed. Their presence can also help reduce the levels of cortisol, known as the stress hormone.
In fact, a study was conducted on a group of people who were required to perform stressful tasks in 4 different situations: alone, with their pet, with their partner or with both. Participants presented the lowest stress responses were the ones with their pets.
